About Razan Masri

I love exploring, researching, finding and sharing. I love to learn and to teach, I love to live and to laugh, I wish to speak to the world as an Arab Woman using the most beautiful language through photographs and writing.

I am loving the… Long dresses vs. long vests over short dresses.

If you haven’t seen it, then here are some of the looks that shout out for lots and lots of fabric, the longer the better, the more it will make you stand out and the more you will look vibrant. I am in love with the looks, they are super elegant, fresh and neutral. Most colors are very serene, pure and just tonic. What do you think?

There is something elegant about knee length dresses… and heels are almost out of trend

It might be my favorite or my second favorite to have few dresses and skirts that are about knee-length or slightly around the knee, it just adds an edge to your body, a tip-top elegance. I also think that it doesn’t suit just anyone, you sort of need to have long legs, or wear high heels with them. But you might actually notice this season; high heels are almost out! Flats and casual shoe-wear are designed to be prepped and suitable for formal wear and evening dresses. Well I once was a high heel fanatic today all i care about is being able to run around without having to worry about breaking my heels.

Here are my favorite looks from London Fashion Week spring summer 2015…. knee length way to go.

Ankle length is sexy… What do you think?

London fashion week swept us by with beautiful sheer collections that covered length from mini, to ankle, knee, and long. Ankle length pants, dresses, skirts, vests are all trending, and are smart casual and beautiful. You don’t need to hide your shoes anymore, instead you can wear those ankle length bottoms and show off your feet and shoe-wear.

Morning Diary Day 9 – Shmisani; and what used to be the happening area in Amman

Shmisani – Amman – Jordan

A trip back into my childhood, when I used to go to the park run in circles and run to play games. Childhood memories are so innocent, pure and beautiful. They take you into the memory lane of nothingness, when life was all about wide open eyes of wonder, and laughter to anything that looks like fun. Around 20 years ago, Shmisani was the place to be. Today Shmisani’s atmosphere of full of life no longer exists, people live there but drive their cars to different areas to have coffee or chill… Memories always remain.

Here is one of my very favorite songs: Paper Aeroplane by Angus & Julia Stone

Open the eye of your heart… And let the way that you walk be slow

Last night before going to bed, i stumbled upon a great writing that all i wanted to do is read it again and remember this morning. I also wanted to share it with everyone that cross my path because a lot of us have terribly become knotted in our own thoughts. Our feelings are distracted and divided into what have happened in our past and what we think will happen in the future… That we have become so drifted from our own being and our present moment:

“In these times of devastating ecological and social collapse, there are those of us who feel an urgency to attend to the world ‘before it’s too late.’ But the great paradox is that this very tendency to rush anxiously ahead is what got us into trouble in the first place.

In the Aboriginal way of dreaming, the past and future are embedded in the present. One’s embodiment is the ground into which all continuity flows, so the past can be just as influenced as the future by one’s way of going in the here and now.

Let the way that you walk be slow. Let us listen to the pleas of our surrounding thirsts. Let us acknowledge the forgetting which drifted us onto this terrifying precipice. Let the grief of it all make its encounter through your remembering. And may beauty come alive then, under our feet.”

I got this from the Facebook page Spiritual Ecology and their source is Toko-pa

It also reminded me of the saying by Rumi that goes: “if you feel distress within yourself while your eyes are unclosed, know that you have shut the eye of your heart. So open it. Recognize the craving of your heart, seeking the immeasurable light.”

So today, I will slow down, I will believe that in my heart there is a clear vision, I will believe that with the right amount of time, my life will take me to where I am meant to go to and what I mean to be doing. Meanwhile I will focus on today, I will cherish the gift of today with those who surround me. I will appreciate everything and count my blessings, I will listen to my callings as they come to me and I will walk closer everyday to what my heart longs for.

We all need a closet full of dresses for our yearly occasions. New York Fashion Week spring summer 2015 have so much to offer. Structure seems to be trending, the body looks more like a robot in those dresses, where the hips are emphasized and the waist is the center point with a seam cut or a belt. Colors are more comfortable metallic or soft pastels. Below are my favorite dresses, dresses I would like to see in my wardrobe, for evening events, parties, weddings or celebrations. Amman – Jabal Amman – Part 2

From last Thursday’s diary I continue with this beautiful morning, stumbled upon beautiful places, and beautiful people. There is nothing more beautiful than art. Emphasizing on the natural beauty that exists, or beautifying your surroundings. Earth colors are welcoming, they are refreshing and warm. Our authenticity is our beauty and our weapon. Don’t let it fade, and don’t destroy it, instead be aware and proud of it. Here are my findings from Jabal Amman, beauty and art in everything I encounter. All my pictures are taken with my Canon 70D.

I have stumbled upon this awesome song that I would like to share with you; alec troniq, mind doodle.

Follow your heart & Empty yourself to find your Ultimate Joy

Just follow your heart. You will stumble upon millions of distractions but just follow your heart. Listen and observe and feel the attractions & distractions but at the end always follow your heart. Learn the difference between your emotions that shall help you follow your heart. “The Prophet Mohammad PBUH once said to someone “You have no peace because sorrow’s purpose is to empty you of previous joys. So long as food fills your stomach, you are not given new food to eat. During elimination, we eat nothing. When we are empty and hungry, then we are given food. Be patient and grieve, for grieving is the emptying of yourself. After you are empty, then joy can enter—a joy with no sorrow, a rose without a thorn, a wine without crop-sickness.”” Enjoy your day, enjoy the best of today, enjoy experiencing the inner growth, the inner self and all the experience around it. ☀️ have a wonderful start of the week.

Stripes and Squares in nyfw spring summer 2015

Stripes are never out, but they are just trending more and more, with bigger prints and on everything. I loved the following pieces, so decided to keep them and share them. Have a strippful day.

Obsessed with Geometric … Find the best of nyfw spring summer 2015

Geometric is one of my core inspirations. I just love them. I love the angels, I love squares, lines, sequence, it just inspires me. In fashion, structure is all about tailoring, the fitting, the proper proportions, sewing, finishing. How your outfit is tailored is very important, and if you match it with geometric lines or shapes, then you have just made your tailoring an art piece. Here are some of my favorite geometric looks from the New York Fashion Week Spring Summer 2015. All pictures belong to http://www.style.com
